Rosacea

Rosacea is a non-contagious inflammatory skin condition that can cause redness, visible blood vessels, swelling, and small red bumps on the face. The redness is most commonly seen on the cheeks and nose and may feel warm, sensitive, or slightly stinging. In some cases, broken capillaries or persistent redness may be present.

Rosacea often affects adults over the age of 30 and may be influenced by factors such as fair skin, sun exposure, heat, spicy foods, alcohol, and stress.

At Luminosity Skin and skinMD, rosacea is assessed through a review of your medical history and a thorough skin examination. Blood tests may occasionally be required.

Following assessment, our on-site GPs may prescribe medications where clinically appropriate. Additional clinical procedures, such as laser therapy, chemical peels, or other interventions, may be used as part of a personalized management plan. Referrals for further medical care may be provided if required.
